My Abridged Life Story
I grew up in a small town in northeastern PA on a trout hatchery raising fish. In high school, I played baseball and chess, though admittedly I was a lot better at the latter than the former–I actually placed second in the nation U1500 my senior year of high school. I was also fortunate enough to be a National Merit Scholarship Finalist achieving a perfect score on the math section of the PSAT. This gave me the opportunity to attend the Barrett Honors College at Arizona State University on a full academic scholarship. After attending there I moved to MN where I lived for 14 years until the pandemic hit and I decided that if I’m going to be working remotely for potentially ever, I might as well do it from somewhere slightly warmer than -40F with the windchill, so I moved to sunny FL.
Over the years I’ve worked for multiple Fortune top 50 companies writing software. I also ran my own consulting company for a while. I’ve got experience in network monitoring systems, health care systems, payment authorization systems, and a few other interesting domains. I currently work for a cryptocurrency company with tens of billions of dollars in assets under custody, specifically on their Ethereum team. My current efforts are focused on engineering Threshold Signature Scheme (TSS) wallets to retain the security properties of our current smart contract based multisig wallets while handling all the actual cryptography off chain so that the fees paid by clients will be that of simple EOA sends instead of having to spend so much gas on handling cryptographic functions on the EVM.
